Warren from Jim’s Antennas was called out to a job just before the X-Factor final.

The building had suddenly lost tv reception in all apartments. “I discovered the problem was a tripped fuse“, says Warren.

Warren had responded to an afterhours “SOS” call from Chris the building manager of a block of units in Paradise island on the Gold coast.  All residents in the block had suddenly lost free to air reception one hour out from the “X-Factor” final!!

After being knocked back by 6 other company technicians, Warren was happy to help them out. After locating the amplifiers, it quickly became obvious the distribution amplifier LED power indicator was off meaning a faulty amplifier or power supply or 240vGPO (General Power Outlet).

A couple of quick tests pointed to the 240v GPO. Chris and I checked the fuse box, flicked the switch and everyone got to watch the final.

Jim's Antennas

If this happens at your house, unit, apartment or commercial building, the first thing to check is the power supply hasn’t been accidentally unplugged by a vacuum cleaner or a playful cat. If it’s still plugged in and it has a power led indicator, check it’s still on.

If everything looks good but you’re still baffled, then it’s time to call Jim’s Antennas.

Thank you to Warren and Jim’s Antennas for the prompt service from the building management.
