THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MASTHEAD AMPLIFIER AKA BOOSTER.

So, you aren’t getting any picture on your TV? Or is it that your TV reception is pixelating? Either way they are both frustratingly annoying but thankfully they can be fixed! However, before calling your Jim’s Antennas expert we ask that you evaluate the following:

  • Ensure your TV and power cables are connected to the wall sockets as well as the TV
  • Try and perform an auto or manual scan for TV Channels (refer back to your TV’s owner manual)
  • If you do have an amplifier in your system ensure the power supply is plugged in and turned on

If you are still unable to resolve your TV reception issues, don’t worry, because at Jim’s Antennas we will do a full assessment, as there could be many causes.

One in particular could be an issue with the booster. But what is a booster?

One of the important components in your TV Antenna System is the masthead amplifier, or more commonly known as the BOOSTER. It is the electronics part of an Antenna system and is powered by a low voltage power supply. Being a powered component, it’s important to keep it dry and clean.
