If your TV is pixelating, images are freezing or you have loss of channels, it’s possibly time for an upgrade. In the age of digital, your old analogue antenna is no longer needed, especially as it does not provide the same quality or strength like digital antennas.
But, it’s not just old analogue Antennas that can cause issues. There are many causes of poor TV reception. This could be cabling, splitters, connectors, amplifiers, incorrect installation or an antenna that has moved off alignment. Storm damage to TV Antennas is common also, especially during electrical storms. High winds can damage antennas and heavy rain can cause antenna components to become full of water.
Before you call the professionals, you can evaluate the following:
If you’re unable to resolve your TV reception issues Jim’s Antennas will do a full assessment of your current antenna system and diagnose any reception problems using specialised equipment.
Only recently, Luke from Jim’s Antennas Shepperton had a customer, that had moved into a house and was experiencing pixelation issues and loss of channels. After testing the TV wall point in the main living room and finding very low signal, the existing antenna was inspected on the roof and an old analogue antenna was found to have been installed incorrectly on a vent pipe.
After removing the existing analogue antenna, a new digital antenna was installed on a new uni-mount using the correct mounting feet for the clip lock roof. A new TV wall point was installed in a different location to the original in the main living room with an additional TV point installed in a bedroom. Now the customer can happily watch TV with a perfect picture.
So, if you have an old antenna that is not doing it’s job anymore, then it’s time to call your local expert at Jim’s Antennas. Call 131 546 or book here, to arrange your free onsite quote.
