When your TV just stops working and you’ve lost channels it’s so frustrating, especially when you just want to sit on the couch and relax. Like all technology there could be many reasons as to why it’s not working. In some cases it could be a simple reason, such as your TV or power cables are not connected to the wall sockets or TV. Or maybe your TV needs to be auto or manual scanned again – if so, make sure you refer to your TV’s manual.
At Jim’s Antennas our team of experts will do a a full assessment of your current antenna system and diagnose any reception problems using specialised equipment. There are many causes of poor TV reception. This could be cabling, splitters, connectors, amplifiers, incorrect installation or an antenna that has moved off alignment. Storm damage to TV Antennas is common also, especially during electrical storms. High winds can damage antennas and heavy rain can cause shorting and other issues.
Luke from Jim’s Antennas Shepparton had a customer whose TV had stopped working. After testing the TV wall point and finding that there was no signal, the existing antennas were inspected. They were old analogue antennas and it was found that the analogue amplifier had fallen off of the mount, was upside down and filled with water and as a result, was no longer working. Luke removed the existing antennas, amplifier and mount and a new digital antenna and amplifier was installed on a new unimount. Luke ensured that they were installed in the best location for signal on the roof.
