Poynting 5G External Antenna Installation
Brad from Jim’s Antennas Caloundra recently installed a Poynting XPOL 5G external antenna for a customer in Aroona who had just moved house.
Prior to moving, Brad’s client relied on a 4G wireless broadband modem to receive their internet data. Although this was a great solution for their old home, after moving this customer noticed that they had reliable internet using their modem and were unsure as to why this was the case.
As soon as he arrived on site, Brad noticed that the neighbouring homes were both two storeys tall and in close proximity to his client’s new house. After conducting a single strength test, he was able to confirm that the signal was so poor because the neighbouring homes were blocking it from being received.
To fix this issue, Brad suggested using an external antenna, as it would sit on the roof above the neighbouring properties, to achieve a clear line of sight, free from obstructions.

Once installed, Brad’s customer’s internet signal went from ‘average’ to ‘excellent’! They now have full access to the internet and no longer experience slow internet speeds, lagging or drop outs.
