Aaron from Jim’s Antennas Montrose was recently called out to a Kalomara home as his client could not fathom why the TV in the home he had just bought was not working. Upon inspection, Aaron found an analogue antenna in the roof space which was running on a ribbon cable from the ‘60s to the TV point!
Aaron kindly explained to his customer that back in the days of analogue TV you could place the antenna within the roof space and it’d work. Nowadays, however, Analogue TV is pretty much obsolete as almost every TV station has gone digital, requiring homes, in most circumstances, to install an exterior digital antenna. This is because the antenna needs to be external to its Rg 6 cabling, which is exactly what Aaron installed to replace the out-dated ribbon cable.
After updating his client’s old antenna system with the appropriate cabling (Rg 6 cabling) and antenna (an exterior digital antenna), Aaron’s client could finally sit back, relax and enjoy his new home.
