Is your TV struggling to get a strong signal? Is the reception cutting in and out? If yes, you may be surprised to know that the problem could be the masthead amplifier and not the antenna itself.
If you are having problems with your signal it’s recommended you call on the experts to inspect your masthead amplifier and antenna. At Jim’s Antennas our franchisees are highly trained and fully qualified to diagnose and repair all reception Issues for your Free To Air TV.
Mark from Jim’s Antennas Mount Annan was called to a job where on inspection of a failed masthead amplifier, he noticed one of the guy wire anchor points for the 4.5 metre mast was missing silicone sealant and was on a strange angle. Water had leaked into the anchor point hole and had rotted the timber and the hole in the tile was all that was holding the mast up, which is how the masthead amplifier became damaged.
After alerting the customer to this issue and the poor condition of the other two guy wires Mark began to look at rectifying the issue, which included testing signal level at a lower height to eliminate the use of such a tall mast which was deemed possible.
Using the existing antenna, Mark installed a rafter mounted 1.5m mast with rubber flashing kit, a new masthead amplifier, then sealed up holes in the tiles and removed the redundant mast and guy wires from the property.
So, if you are having issues with your TV reception, it may not be simple as just needing a new antenna. To arrange a free onsite, no obligation quote with your local Jim’s Antennas expert call 131 546 or book here.
