Cassie from Jim’s Antennas Northern Rivers recently assisted a customer who, despite living close to their 5G Telstra tower, struggled to receive enough coverage for calls and was unable to get a decent signal on their new Nighthawk M5 modem.
Once Cassie arrived onsite, it was discovered that these reception issues were due to dense tree coverage. With the help of the team at Powertec, Cassie determined the optimum height for new antenna to be installed and which internet solutions would best for the customer to receive full 5G coverage and make and receive phone calls.
A new Poynting Xpol MIMO Antenna was then installed and connected to the customer’s existing Nighthawk M5 modem. To ensure fast and reliable internet speeds, the 5G internet was distributed by a Ruijie WiFi Ceiling Access Point. The client was also provided with a Rujie Wireless Bridge to send the 5G internet to a separate building on the property, which was distributed using a Ruijie Mesh Router. Finally, the customer was provided with a CelFi LPDA Telstra GO building pack to enhance 4G signal throughout the premises and allow them to make and receive calls.
Once complete, they were able to receive full 4G coverage throughout the main house and 160-170mbps of 5G internet at both the main house and the second building on the property. This customer is now able to use their phone without worrying about dropouts or unseen missed calls and finally has access to a reliable internet connection.
