Brad from Jim’s Antennas Caloundra was recently contacted by a client who was unable to receive a mobile signal in their house and could only get one bar of reception by standing out on their drive way. While this client’s property is nested a gorgeous lush valley surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and thick vegetation, the landscape makes it difficult for 3G and 4G signals to be received by nearby homes.
This common issue is further complicated by the fact many rural areas with small populations have not yet received new base stations, which is simply due to the fact that such regions are not commercially viable for Telco service providers to complete base station installations.
In order to give his client the best possible experience using 3G data, Brett installed a Cel-Fi GO Smart Signal Booster, alongside a donor antenna. The antenna will receive signals from nearby cell towers and transfers these to the booster, which then boosts the radio frequency signal to extend coverage and increases the strength in areas where the connection was previously weak or unavailable.
During this installation Brad also used a wideband directional antenna to receive greater power and reduce unwanted interference. Complete with weather resistant housing, built from UV stabilised ABS plastic, not only will the wideband antenna drastically increase performance, but it will also last this client a good few years as it is highly resistant to weather-related damage.
With Brad’s help, for the first time in 3 years this client could finally enjoy full signal strength and decent internet connectivity inside their home.
