Where is the best location for my Antenna?

See the picture above? It’s a great example of how not to install an Antenna!!

At Jim’s Antennas we often get asked where is the best location for my Antenna and the answer depends on a lot of factors.

The correct location of your Antenna has a lot to do with the location of the nearest TV towers. Ideally, an antenna should be mounted at the point where the signals are the strongest which can only be assessed with the correct signal meter that all Jim’s Antennas franchisee’s carry. The antenna should also be mounted where it can be easily serviced should repairs or adjustments be required in the future.

We all don’t want to see unsightly Antennas on our roofs but unfortunately in the digital TV age installing an Antenna inside the roof cavity is not on as there is  always the issue of loss of signal due to low signal the antenna struggling to gain signal being blocked from the tile or tin.

In weaker signal areas a masthead amplifier may also be required to boost the signal and in really hard to obtain signal areas a  tall masts may also be required to gain the extra signal. Finally, your antenna will need to be fitted to a secure mast.

You can see that the antenna in the photo above is attached to the toilet breather pipe(!!). This Antenna never worked properly, as it was receiving interference from the tin roof. Needless to say, this is certainly a great example of how an antenna must not be installed.

Does this all sound too hard? That’s why all our Jim’s Antennas franchisees are qualified in Digital and Terrestrial technologies, carry all the latest testing equipment and can make the installation process so easy and cover your installation with a warranty backed by the Jim’s group of companies. So give us a call on 131546 to arrange a no obligation free quote to find the best location for your new Antenna.
