If your guy wire is broken, you need to have it fixed, as soon as possible. But, first what is a guy wire? It’s the tensioned wire cable that is used to brace the mast that you Antenna is on. If the guy wire becomes rusted or weakened (due to bad weather, rust caused by salty air or age) it can break causing the antenna to fall, causing danger and damage to your property.
If you do notice that your guy wire is broken, it’s important that you don’t try to fix it yourself, call the experts at Jim’s Antennas instead. Our team of experts are highly trained and fully qualified to replace your mount and replace your antenna if need be.
Steve from Jim’s Antennas Heathmont had a customer who’s guy wire snapped, causing the whole mast system to fall on the roof, causing broken tiles which in turn created water damage in the house. But, before Steve removed the whole mast from the roof and installed a new antenna system with a booster, he covered the damaged roof area with tarp, while the customer arranged the roof repairer.
