Are you putting up with poor TV reception and pixilation?
Rodney from Jim’s Antennas Wyong recently upgraded an antenna system for a home on the Central Coast due to his client’s TV experiencing a poor signal connection.
Using his expertise as both a local of the area and an experienced antenna technician, it didn’t take Rodney long to figure out that this issue was due to interference from the local mobile phone towers.
In DIY-gone-wrong jobs that we are accustomed to seeing (and fixing) it is not uncommon for clients to have installed the incorrect TV antenna and equipment for their location. Issues arise from customers not choosing antennas that account for known reception issues in their area (among other things), simply as they don’t have access to this knowledge and experience in the field.
Another common culprit for poor reception is an out-dated antenna, which was what was causing trouble in Rod’s client’s system. If an Antenna dates back a few decades it’s likely to have issues keeping up with current, and changing technology – which it was not designed to handle. For example, Rod’s client’s antenna was unable to deal with the interference of 4G signals. This is because the frequency that the 4G signal travels on was previously used by the Digital Terrestrial Television network to broadcast TV, and his client’s antenna was still tuned to pick up the frequency.
In order to improve his client’s TV viewing experience, Rod installed a brand new up-to-day 4G ready antenna which is able to filter out frequencies received by phone transmission towers. Thanks to Rod, his clients can now enjoy crystal clear reception, and are finally able to kick back, relax and enjoy their TV.
