Shane from Jim’s Antennas Salisbury recently moved his customers FTTP ONT, which included a separate power supply with an enclosed back-up battery, to another room in the house.
Because the relocation was further away from the NTD (outside box), a re-cable of longer Optic Fibre (OF) cable was required. The OF cable consists of a glass tube within the outer sheath and requires precision termination of its connectors to work at the desired dBm range.
This installation requires a person with OF training/qualifications/licence.
Make sure your installer has this ACMA accreditation.
We see a lot of NBN FTTP ONT boxes installed, that customers find are in inappropriate positions within the home at 1st installation. Be assured that the technicians from Jim’s Antennas are not only licenced to carry out these relocations but are more than happy to work with you to find a suitable location within your home.
Make sure you have the right person working on your NBN connection, call us at
